Houellebecq - French Poetry

Summer in Deuil-la-Barre

The colors of disbanded reason
Like a small unfinished totem
Give a new shape to the seasons,
Absence fills the summer days.

Buddha's tranquil sun
Slid across the clouds
We'd left the city behind,
And the storm had left the sky.

The road slid in the sunrise
The wipers were vibrating,
I'd have liked to see your body
Again, before leaving for good.
